เพื่อให้เข้ากับบรรยากาศของกีฬาที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดแห่งภูมิภาคอาเซียน ซีเกมส์ครั้งที่ 27 บล็อก ASEAN CORNER จะรวบรวมสำนวนภาษาอังกฤษที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกีฬามาให้เรียนรู้กัน


hit below the belt (from boxing) - ชกใต้เข็มขัด
Meaning: To act unfairly
Example Sentence: Politicians always hit below the belt by saying horrible things against each other.


back the wrong horse (from horse racing) - สนับสนุนคนผิด
Meaning: To make the wrong choice or decision
Example Sentence: Have you ever happened to back the wrong horse?


throw in the towel (from boxing) - ยอมรับความพ่ายแพ้
Meaning: To surrender, admit defeat
Example Sentence: When Jack could stand no more of his wife's bad temper, he threw in the towel and left.

Conversation Questions for ASEAN Classroom:สนทนาภาษาอังกฤษกับอาเซียนคอร์เนอร์

เดือนนี้บล็อก ASEAN CORNER ขอเชิญชวนนักเรียนและผู้สนใจทั่วไปฝึกสนทนาภาษาอังกฤษเกี่ยวกับกีฬาซีเกมส์ครั้งที่ 27 ณ ประเทศเมียนมาร์ ซึ่งขณะนี้นักกีฬาแต่ประเทศต่างทุ่มเทสุดความสามารถในการชิงชัยเหรียญทองในกีฬาประเภทต่างๆ เพื่อความภาคภูมิใจของคนในชาติ

ทั้งนี้การเน้นการสนทนาภาษาอังกฤษในชั้นเรียนกำลังจะมีการประกาศให้เป็นนโยบายใหม่ของกระทรวงศึกษาธิการเพื่อปฏิรูปการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษของประเทศทั้งระบบ
