AirAsia plane's black box flight recorder found
Searchers had found both flight recorders from
AirAsia Flight QZ8501 in the Java Sea. The aircraft, which was flying from
Surabaya in Indonesia to Singapore, disappeared in bad weather on 28 December
with 162 people on board.

Indonesia
executes 6 drug convicts by firing squad
The Indonesian government had executed prisoners for
drug-related offences in the first capital punishment deaths in the nation
since 2013 under new president Joko Widodo. The two women and four men killed
by firing squad included five foreigners from the Netherlands, Brazil, Vietnam,
Malawi, Nigeria and one Indonesian.

Thailand’s first female Prime Minister was impeached
by the National Legislative Assembly on Jan 23. She is also facing criminal
charges after being banned from Thai politics for five years.
