Thailand and Myanmar Border Crossing Points / ด่านพรมแดนไทย-พม่า

Thailand and Myanmar share the long border of 2,400 kilometres approximately on the north and west of the country. The border stretches from the Golden Triangle to Kaw Thaung in the south. There are 10 Thai provinces that share the border with Myanmar. At present there are three major official border crossing points from north to south, they are : (1) Mae Sai - Thachiliek, (2) Mae Sot - Myawaddy, and (3) Ranong - Kaw Thaung. In addition, there are many other smaller and unofficial border crossings in many places.

ประเทศไทยมีพรมแดนติดต่อกับประเทศพม่าทางด้านทิศเหนือและทิศตะวันตกเป็นระยะทางกว่า 2,400 กิโลเมตร ซึ่งนับเป็นระยะทางที่ยาวที่สุดเมื่อเทียบกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้านของไทยทั้งหมดและมีจังหวัดชายแดนถึง 10 จังหวัดของไทยที่ติดต่อกับพม่าประกอบด้วย เชียงราย, แม่ฮ่องสอน, เชียงใหม่, ตาก, กาญจนบุรี, ราชบุรี, เพชรบุรี, ประจวบคีรีขันธ์, ชุมพรและระนอง  โดยไทยมีจุดผ่านแดนถาวรกับประเทศพม่าจำนวน  3  จุดได้แก่

1. ฝั่งไทย อ.แม่สาย จ.เชียงราย ฝั่งพม่า เมืองท่าขี้เหล็ก รัฐฉาน
